Yvonne Boaz McFalls, 87 of Eden, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm.
Yvonne was born September 19, 1938 in Eden, North Carolina, to the late Thomas Boaz and Avis Arthur Boaz. She was raised in the episcopal faith, attending St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Yvonne earned her degree in nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Moses Cone Hospital for many years. After meeting her husband, Frederick, they moved to Canada where she worked in mental health. Her job in this industry inspired her husband to go back to school studying psychiatry. They moved to Florida where he earned his degree. In the 90s, Yvonne was heavily involved in a thespian group called Masque, that was very fulfilling for her. Once Dr. McFall’s practice was established, Yvonne moved into his office working as nurse and office manager until her retirement. She had a love of flowers, growing and arranging, having even ran a flower shop earlier in life. Once they moved back to Eden, Yvonne worked in retail as a way to fill her time. She and her husband were very involved in the community. They loved their family and friends and spending time with them all.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Hunter McFalls; stepchildren, Ann McFalls Pontin and Freddy McFalls; step-grandchildren, Campbell and Kessler Pontin; nephew, John B. Parker, III (Kaye); niece, Catherine Lunt (Steve); great nieces and nephews, Savannah Parker, John Thomas Parker, Timothy Cox, Julianna Cadieux (Dakota), Jacob Lunt; several other close cousins and family members.
In addition to her parents, Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frederick McFalls; sister, Joan Parker, and her husband, Johnny Parker, Jr.
The family would like to give special thanks to those who cared for Yvonne: caregivers, Valarie Willis and Barbara Little; the nurses at Novant Medical Center; the nurses and staff at Ancora Compassionate Care; Carolina Apothecary; and Pastor Hunter Thompson with Ancora.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
