William Von Heffinger

William "Von" Heffinger, 58 of Ridgeway, VA departed this life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the UNC Rockingham Hospital.  He was born September 10, 1963 in Eden, NC., to Josephine Thacker Heffinger and the late William Hughes Heffinger.

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 15th at 2:00pm in the Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.  Von will lie in state Friday from 8:00am to 1:00pm at Fair Funeral Home for those who wish to come by to pay their respects and sign the register book. Due to the current COVID conditions, the family has strickly requested no visitors at the home.

Von graduated from Drewry Mason High School in 1981 and later he graduated from Piedmont Bible College in Winston-Salem, NC. He held various jobs from being a Radio Host, to being a Teacher, Coach, and most recently a Dispatcher at the Eden City Police Dept. for 13 years before becoming disabled.

Von was well loved by everyone and never met a stranger. He had a great love for music, especially beach music. It took him to his "Happy Place". He loved sports of all kind and was a huge North Carolina Tarheels fan. 

He is survived by his mother, Josephine Thacker Heffinger; sister Debbie (Wayne) Murdock; nephew, Curtis Murdock; and several aunts, and cousins.

Mr. Heffinger was preceded in death by his father, William Hughes Heffinger.
