William "Tony" Adkins

William “Tony” A. Adkins age 77 of Eden, NC passed away on Sunday August 20, 2023 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dan-View Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 am till 11 am.  Military Honors will be held at the cemetery by the U.S. Army and the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard.

Tony was born March 13, 1946 in Rockingham County to the late Willie and Agnes McDaniel Adkins.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in both Hawaii and Germany.  He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and retired from Fleetmaster Trucking as a Broker. Tony was the District Commander for Guilford and Rockingham Counties American Legion.  He held many positions at the local American Legion Post 254.

Surviving are wife, Pamilar Wood Adkins of the home; sons, Ben Adkins, William Adkins and Frankie Adkins; grandchildren, Benson & Maggie Adkins and numerous other grandchildren.

Preceding him in death along with his parents was a brother, Jack Adkins and sister, Bonita A. Taylor.
