William “Billy” Hyler III, 43, passed away unexpectedly at his home in McLeansville.
A memorial service will take place at 3pm Friday, January 19, 2024, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. A reception will be held following the service at The Morehead Fair House.
He was born on July 22, 1980, to Penny McBride (Purnell) and the late William “Billy” Hyler Jr at Morehead Memorial Hospital. William graduated Rockingham County High School and later earned Associates Degrees at Rockingham County Community College and Forsyth Technical College. William had worked for Fieldcrest Mills, Cone Health and most recently at UNC Rockingham as a CT Technologist.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carrie and their special felines Ziggy and Zazzy; his mother Penny Purnell (Randy); brothers Rusty Purnell, Adam Hyler (Sheli); Ryan Hyler (Tiffany); brothers-in law John McMaster; Mark McMaster (Dawn); sister Amanda Newsome (Randy); grandmothers Jean Alderson, Eleanor Hyler and Elaine Lawson and Nancy McBride; Aunts Connie Allman (Dale) and Rhonda Flinchum; Uncle DJ Alderson (Wendy); Cousins Trisha Crowder (David); Tammy Slade (Andy); Megan Meeks (Brian); Dallen Alderson (Savannah); Carrie Rogers (Bill); DW Shelton; Sam Shelton; Kim Marley (Scott); Rhonda Price (David) and their families; life-long best friend Tim Burchell and many more friends and colleagues.
William was preceded in death by his father Billy Hyler Jr.; father-in-law John McMaster; mother-in-law Maudene Wilson; grandfathers Billy Hyler Sr. and Bobby McBride; great grandparents Howard Westley and Lucinda Hyler and his beloved dog Cookie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal shelter or other organization of the donor’s choice.
