William Curtis Cochran Jr., a beloved Navy veteran, brother, father, uncle, fisherman, and golfer, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at the age of 77. Known to many as Billy, and some as Sassy, he lived a life rooted in service, family, and quiet joys. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he carried his love for country with honor. He found peace in the early morning stillness of fishing and the familiar greens of a golf course—simple moments that reflected his steady spirit.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Audrey Cochran; his brother, Timothy Cochran; and his grandson, Brandon Brazeale.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Jean Ray; his children Tracy Cochran Fry & husband Jerrold, Katina Cochran Johnson & husband Christopher, Audrey Christina Cochran Cornett, Joseph Michael Cochran & wife Cathy; his 11 grandchildren; and his 12 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and one loving aunt who will forever hold his memory close.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Billy’s memory may be made to the Kernersville VA Medical Center via the Department of Veterans Affairs at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/entry/101/50810087/
