William "Boss" Mabe

William "Boss" Mabe, 90, of 9557 NC 87 South in Wentworth, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 1, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Friday evening, 5 - 7 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Boss was born May 12, 1928 in Stokes County, NC, to the late Wesley Mabe and Emma Hall Mabe.  He was the founder, owner and operator of Boss Motor Company until his retirement.  Boss enjoyed gardening, watching the stock market and watching golf matches.

He is survived by his two sons, Keith "Zero" Mabe and wife, Rene and Kevin Mabe, both of Eden;  three grandchildren, Dakota Mabe, Will Mabe and Andrew Mabe;  and brother, Wes Mabe and wife, Faye of Stokes County.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ray Mabe;  son, Kenny Mabe;  brothers, Weldon, Watson, and Melvin Mabe;  and sisters, Maggie Mabe,  Fannie Marshall, and Bunch King.
