William "Billy" Howard Hyler, Sr.

William "Billy" Howard Hyler, Sr., 75, of 117 Buchanan Street in Eden, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Moses Cone Hospital.  

There will be no formal service per Mr. Hyler's wishes.  However, family and friends are welcome to visit at his home Friday, January 13th through Sunday, January 15th.

Mr. Hyler was born June 14, 1941 in Leaksville, NC to the late Howard Wesley "Red" Hyler and Lucinda Hill Hyler.  He was a NC National Guard veteran and a retiree of American Tobacco Company.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eleanor Cochran Hyler, of the home;  daughter, Trisha Crowder and husband, David of Eden;  step-daughter, Ronda Chambers Flinchum of Danville, VA;  four grandchildren, William H. Hyler III of McLeansville, Adam B. Hyler of Eden, Tammy Flinchum Slade of Gretna, VA, and Ryan N. Hyler of Eden;  and seven great-grandchildren, Jayden Slade, Hannah Hyler, Lexi Hyler, Lydia Hyler, Kylie Slade, Wyatt Slade, and Payton Hyler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William "Billy" Howard Hyler, Jr.
