William "Bill" Nelson Hester

William “Bill” Nelson Hester, 77, passed away Saturday morning, January 23, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 28, at Danview Cemetery.  Military honors will be performed by the Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard and the US Air Force.  He will lie in repose on Wednesday, 12 Noon – 6 PM at Fair Funeral Home for those wishing to come by to pay their respects.

Born March 10, 1943 in Granville, NC, Bill was the son of the late Durwood Washington Hester and Bernice Pitchford Hester.  He was a US Air Force veteran and a retiree of Ball, Inc. Bill was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Cannon Hester of the home; two daughters, Victoria Hale (Tarus) of Eden and Cindy Hester of Durham; two grandchildren, Alex and Greg Hale, both of Eden; sister, Joyce Poole of Durham; and his precious cat, Sweet Pea.
