William "Bill" Jones

William John Jones, “Bill”, 81, of Eden, passed away at his home on Monday, August 7, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors on the front lawn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10-11am.

Bill was born July 2, 1942, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to the late Dr. William Felix Jones and Jeanette Cain Jones. He attended Fork Union Military Academy prior to joining the US Air Force. He proudly served his country from 1961-1963. Bill worked in optic sales for Salem Optical until his retirement. Bill enjoyed playing golf and going to the movies. He was a collector of lead toy soldiers, amassing over 4000 during his life.

Surviving are his loving wife, Hazel Norman Jones of the home; son, William “Bill” Crozier Jones (Margaret) of High Point; stepdaughter, Rhonda Stone (Lannie) of Eden; grandsons, Connor and Parker Jones; step-grandson, “Chad” Landon Stone; sisters, Kathy Jones of Randleman and Marybelle Hutchison of Flemington, NJ; lifelong friend and cousin, Jeff Weaver of Hilton Head, SC.

< In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Ralph E. Parsons; brother, David S. Jones; stepson, Albert “Frankie” Norman, Jr; and step-grandson, Grayson Stone.
