Wayne Alan Jenkins, 50, passed away Tuesday, February 6th at his home.
A memorial service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, February 18th at 2:00pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be performed by the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard.
Wayne was born October 14, 1973 to Ronald Jenkins and Pamela Goin Jenkins in Seattle, Washington. After graduating from Everette High School in 1992, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1992, serving until 1998. When the Iraq war began, Wayne, re-enlisted in the Marines in 2004. After being honorably discharged in North Carolina, he remained in the state and began a career in computer engineering. He eventually settled in Rockingham County. At the time of his passing, Wayne was employed at the Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center. He loved his family dearly, especially Alan and Lance. His boys were the love of his life.
He was a member of the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard and Rockingham Food Coalition and served for many years with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. Recently he organized a local branch of the Young Marines chapter. Wayne was a faithful member of Immanuel Friends Church in Eden.
Left to cherish his memory are his twin sons, Alan and Lance Jenkins; Karen Jenkins, the mother of the twins; father, Ronald Jenkins, brother, Stephen Jenkins (Loreen), sister, Paula Jenkins (Victor), all from Washington; the boys’ adopted grandmother, Ann Fish of Eden; nephew, Brody Jenkins; nieces, Bella Jenkins, Brianna Jenkins, Natalie Jenkins, and Latrice Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Goin Jenkins.
