Warren Harden Carter, Jr.

Warren Harden Carter, Jr., 83 of Eden, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden.

Warren was born February 14, 1942, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Warren H. Carter, Sr., and Nellie Thompson Carter Purdy. He was self-employed as a handyman, and enjoyed working with his hands. He loved his tractors and mechanics. He was known to his family as a “master builder”. Warren raced in motocross. He loved his family and spending time with them. He would always help when needed.

Surviving are his sons, Warren H. Carter, III, (Lynn), Michael Carter (Wendy); daughter, Cheryl Purdy (Randy); sister, Sue Robertson; brother, Tom Purdy; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Bo.

In addition to his parents, Warren is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sarah Craven Carter; sisters, Dorothy Dodson and Carnell Baliles; brothers, Willie Purdy and Timmy Purdy.
