Our mother could not wait for that glorious day when she would finally get to meet Jesus, our LORD and Savior-she waits no more! Our sweet mother attended Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia and had been a faithful member of Wayside Baptist church for many years prior. She wore many hats as she was talented in various skills excelling in crafting, knitting, sewing, gardening, canning and preserving. Indeed, her children only inherited a mere fraction of her many talents. Our mother was an avid reader of many books of knowledge, but mostly her beloved Bible. She lived every day, loving God and her children, and in passionate pursuit for each of her children and grandchildren to have their own relationship with Jesus. The Bible describes our mother very well in the book of Proverbs chapter 31. She rose up early in the morning to provide for her family-worked diligently with her hands. She had inward strength that flowed outward to her children. Strength and honor are her clothing, and she had no fear of the future. She watched well over the households of her children and always pointed us to Christ and to “Do what Jesus says”. Her children rise up and call her BLESSED! She didn’t pass riches in material things to her children, but she did give us the greatest of riches, and that was something observed in her life. The riches of integrity, commitment, endurance, courage, truth-speaking, honor, humility, value and love for each other and God. We are blessed to call her our Mom. Death on earth is but the beginning of her eternal life with Jesus!
