Vivian Lois Mcguire Shough

Vivian Lois McGuire Shough, age 91 of Eden passed away on Friday January 29, 2021 at UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday February 2, 2021 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Vivian will Lie In Repose on Monday, February 1st, from 1- 6pm.  The Service will be Live Streamed on Facebook for those who cannot attend the funeral.

Mrs. Shough was born July 21, 1929 in Axton, Va. to the late Elijah and Lizzie Hankins McGuire.  She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills where she was an Oriental Rug Carver. Vivian grew up and attended the Draper Christian Church and also attended and was a member at Spray Baptist Church.  She was a member of Widows for Christ, Lady’s Love Circle, Home Extension Club of Rockingham County and Tops 135 Eden Chapter. She loved to send cards to people and would call WLOE for birthdays and anniversary’s of friends of hers.

Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Diana S. Biggs and husband Tim of whom she resided and Denise S. Pierce both of Eden, grandchildren, Michelle Biggs Horton (Robbie) of Eden, Larry N. Pierce II (Carrie) of Jamestown, Alton M. Pierce of Eden; great-grandsons, Tyler, Ethan and Eli Horton; great-granddaughters, Harper and Hadley Pierce, nieces, Linda Rule, Kathy Costantino, Teresa Burris, Mickey Jo Long of Salisbury area and other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Alton B. Shough and her sister, Geraldine McGuire Hundley.
