Virginia Thacker

Virginia Ellen Childress Thacker, 73, of Brian Center of Eden passed away on October 1, 2017 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held on at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Happy Home Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of her son, 8761 Hwy 700, Ruffin, NC.

Mrs. Thacker was born on February 13, 1944 to the late Peachye Seamster Childress.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly.  Virginia will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Virginia is survived by her son, Michael Thacker (Robin) of Ruffin; two grandsons, Nick Thacker (Samatha) and Justin Thacker; one great-grandchild, Madeline Thacker; brothers and sisters, Roger Childress (Faye), James Childress, Mary Irby, Barbara Dunford (Tim), Janice English and Catherine East (Bill).

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Carl Thacker and brother, Larry Childress.
