Tommie Roberson, Jr.

Tommie Roberson, Jr., 79, of 314 Pervie Bolick Street in Eden,went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 18, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Monday May 21, 2012, 12 noon at First Wesleyan Church with visitation to be held one hour prior to the service from 11 am til 12 at the church and other times at the home. Fair Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Tommie was born August 30, 1932 in Spray, NC to the late Tommie Roberson, Sr. and Myrtle Burchell Roberson. He was a four year veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1951 til 1955. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church and served in various capacities. Tommie was employed many years with Fieldcrest Mills and retired from Miller Brewing Company. He was a member of Leaksville Masonic Lodge #136 and the Rockingham County Beekeepers Association.

Preceding him in death along with his parents was brother, Wilford J. Roberson. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Rutledge Roberson; daughters, Cathy Chaney and husband Rick, and Teresa Younts and husband Wyatt, all of Eden; sister, Geneva Allen of Eden and brother, Larry Roberson and wife Lib of Winter Haven, FL, grandchildren, Carrie Woods, Jessie and Adam Edwards, Heather and Burton Younts and Hannah Taylor and husband Ryan, great grandchildren, Brianna Hayes, Lilly, Seth and Samara Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
