Tommie Lee Amburn, 62, of 230 Welcome Home Drive in Stokesdale, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 27, 2012, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.
  A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 31, at Stokesdale Christian Church.
  Mr. Amburn was born November 25, 1950 in Leaksville, NC, son of the late Lester "Jack" Amburn and Marjorie Austin Amburn.  He was a member of Stokesdale Christian Church.  Tommie graduated from Morehead High School in 1969 and received an associates degree in drafting from Rockingham Community College in 1972.  He was a general contractor.
  He is survived by his wife, Jackie Lemons Amburn of the home;  daughter, Stephanie Amburn Dalton and husband, Jai, of Eden;  two grandsons, D. J. Moton and Jake Dalton, both of Eden;  brother, Jerry Amburn and partner, Tony Burnette of Chatham, VA;  sister, Doris Keaton and husband, Doug of Reidsville;  mother-in-law, Lou Lemons;  brother-in-law, Andy Lemons;  niece, Ashley Rocha of Encinitas, CA;  and his beloved pets, Lambeau, Pepper, Maggie Mae, Blue Z, Friday, Gone and Samie.
  The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
