Thomas "Tommy" Edward Allen

Thomas “Tommy” Edward Allen, 81, of Eden passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Hospice of Rockingham County’s Gibson House.

A funeral service will be held 2pm, Monday, November 14, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery in Eden, with full Military Honors performed by the Rockingham County Veteran’s Honor Guard. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Tommy was born April 5, 1941 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Samuel Jackson Allen and Myrtle Dillon Allen. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War Era. Tommy later served as the Commander of the Rockingham County Veteran’s Honor Guard. He worked as a Maintenance Oiler at Lorillard Tobacco Co. Tommy attended Old Time Baptist Church in Eden. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Penny Allen of Eden, NC; son, Eddie Allen (Wendy) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Joshua Dishmon, Emmy and Addy Allen; sister, Jackie Carter of Fredericksburg, VA; numerous cousins.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Margaret Jean Kingston Allen.
