Thomas Owen Phillips of Martinsville, VA, passed away Friday morning, April 19, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, April 27, at Eden Baptist Church. Pastor Daryl Law is officiating.

Mr. Phillips was born January 2, 1927 in Surry County, NC, son of the late Edwin Phillips and Lula Martin Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Phillips of the home; son, Lanny Thomas Phillips and wife, Margie, of Jackson Springs, NC; daughter, Lynne Barber and husband, Thomas, of Asheboro; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Clara Mallard of Jackson Springs.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (2 - 3 PM) on Saturday at Eden Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eden Baptist Church, 320 The Boulevard, Eden, NC 27288.
