Thomas Manley Joyce, Jr.

Thomas Manley Joyce, Jr., 87, recently of Reidsville, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at his home. He was formerly of Ridgeway, VA, where he lived for 43 years.

A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-11am, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Thomas was born May 12, 1937 A.D. in Stuart, Virginia, to the late Thomas Manley Joyce, Sr., and Minerra Lou Willard Joyce. He was married to Mae Ellen Joyce who passed away on the Lord’s Day, September 15, 2013 A.D. They had a son, Thomas Manley Joyce, III.

Graduated from Sandy Ridge High School in 1957 A.D. Graduated from Johnson Bibile with Bachelor of Sacred Literature in 1966 A.D. Thomas served his country nearly four years in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He was awarded Doctoral Degree of Wisdom and Practical Experience from North Carolina Preachers Bible Study in 2003 A.D. 

Thomas was ordained to the Ministry of the Gospel in 1966 A.D. and served churches in North Carolina and Virginia. 

He worked at Tultex as a machine operator for many years. Thomas served as preacher at Tazwell Christian Church, Stella Christian Church, and Christian View Christian Church. 

Surviving are his son, Thomas M. Joyce, III, (Sheree); grandchildren, Monica King, Butch King, Heather Lynn Wooding (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Bryson Wooding and Kayleigh Wooding.

In addition to his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Mae Ellen Joyce, and brother, Richard Joyce.
