Thomas Randolph Carter

Thomas “Randolph” Carter, 81 of Stoneville, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Shiloh. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Randolph was born September 19, 1942 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Thomas Hardin Carter and Cornelia Delancey Carter. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, and working at the farm. He enjoyed spending time at Shiloh Fire Department where he was a volunteer and rose to rank of Lt. He worked at Sara Lee for several years, but has always been a farmer. 

Surviving are his children, Angela Barton (Bud) of Ecuador, Tammy Carter Gordy(Richie Richardson) of Stoneville; grandchildren, Zach Schible (Laura) of IN, Austin Schible (Whitney) of Chapel Hill, Will Medley (Alyssa) of Sandy Ridge, Jaye Greeson (Amanda) of Burlington, Sophie Gordy of King, Maggie Gordy of King; sister, Linda Shropshire (special friend, Art) of Greensboro; great-grandchildren, Selah Schible, Ellianna Schible, and Nathaniel Schible all of Indiana,Trinity Medley and Mary Alice Medley of Sandy Ridge; best friend, Lynne Nance; son-in-law, Jeff Roberts of Eden.

In addition to his parents, Randolph is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Carter, and daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Roberts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375, or to the Shiloh Fire Department Auxiliary, 3325 Settle Bridge Rd, Stoneville, NC 27048.
