Thomas U. Broome, age 92, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 25, 2026. He is now rejoicing in the eternal presence of the Almighty, leaving behind a profound legacy of unwavering faith, devotion, and unconditional love.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Monday. June 1, 2026 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Thomas loved God with all his heart, mind, and soul, and he loved his wife just as Christ loved the Church deeply, faithfully, and without measure. A pillar of his spiritual community, Thomas served for many years as a dedicated deacon at New Beginnings Church, where he also shared his beautiful musical gifts as the church pianist.
His life was a living, breathing testament to the words faithful and true.
FAMILY LEGACY & SURVIVORS
Thomas is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Father Virginia Neely Broome Sr. and Mother Mae Latham Broome, as well as his beloved brother, Virginia Neely Broome Jr.
His beautiful legacy of love continues through his surviving family:
His Beloved Wife: Shirley Broome, with whom he shared 70 blessed and beautiful years of marriage.
His Children:
Cora Church and her husband, Johnny
Wylie Broome and his wife, Marybeth
Eugene Broome (and his late wife, Mandy)
Pamela Jones and her husband, Phillip
His Sister-in-Law: Brenda Broome (wife of his late brother, Virginia Jr.).
Generations of Grandchildren: Thomas was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
The Broome family wishes to express their deepest, most heartfelt thanks for the sympathy and compassion extended by the amazing members of New Beginnings Church in Eden.
In his final days, Thomas was cared for at Jacobs Creek in Madison. Without a doubt, a special thanks is given to the staff for their attentive, tender, and dignified care during his stay.
The family also extends an explicit, heartfelt thank you to April for her ongoing daily support for Thomas and the entire family when it was needed most. To everyone who sent prayers, comforting words, and support: We say thank you to all.
