Thelma Taylor Rigney

Thelma Taylor Rigney, 91, of Eden, NC, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at Eden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am Thursday, October 19th at the Rigney Family Cemetery on Kingston Road in Eden.

Thelma was born April 15, 1932, in Alleghany County, VA, to the late Arthur Taylor and Carrie Phillips Taylor. Thelma was a member of Draper Baptist Church and, more recently, attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, and spent her life caring for her family. Thelma loved singing and sang in the church choir. She loved spending time with her family and going to church.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Rigney, Gary Rigney, Regenia Poindexter, and Wayne Rigney; sister, Cupidean Martin; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Rigney; two sisters and one brother, Ruby Anderson, Flossie Seay, and Edward Taylor.
