Thelma Sexton

December 28, 1920 — January 1, 2013

Mrs. Thelma Bolden Sexton, 92, of 1953 Price Grange Road, Stoneville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 4, at Providence Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sexton was born on December 28, 1920 to the late J. E. and Margie Bolden. She was a longtime member of Providence Baptist Church but recently attended Brighter Days Ministries. She continued to attend church regularly even while being a patient at The Brian Center of Eden. Mrs. Sexton retired from Mitchell Drug Store in Eden but was best known around Rockingham County as the lady who loved to dance. A few nights a week she would put on her dancing shoes and join all her friends to dance the night away.

She is survived by her loving family: Wayne Sexton, Earl Sexton (Beth), Benny Sexton (Pam), Peggy Rorrer (Jimmy), Linda Lunsford (Tommy), Cathy Cook, Pam Collins (Darrell) and Randy Sexton (Dianne); 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Maude Priddy, Elaine Strader, Lucille Tilley, Jackie Neal, and Richard, Jimmy and Bobby Bolden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul R. Sexton; her youngest child, Jerry D. Sexton; her grandson, Scott Lunsford; and her brothers, Herman, James, Dewey and Johnny Bolden.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home, 1953 Price Grange Road in Stoneville.

Special thanks to the staff at The Brian Center of Eden, Dayspring Family Medicine (especially Dr. Howard), the ICU staff and the 3rd floor staff at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
