Thelma "Jane" Lillard

Thelma “Jane” Inez Nelson Lillard, 90 of Eden, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at Ancora Compassionate Care’s Gibson House in Reidsville.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Dan View Cemetery.

Jane was born March 23, 1935 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late James Henry Nelson and Flora Myrtle Stratton Nelson. She was a member of Fieldcrest Road Church of God. Jane loved her cat, Sweet Pea, and feeding her birds. She especially loved hummingbirds. Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and was very close to her sister, Ruth.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sheryl Moore (Larry), Wanda Lillard, Janice Roop; son, George “Mike” Michael Lillard; nieces, Gwen Pruitt (Tommy), Vicki Rogers; grandkids, Angela Shockley (Scott), Stephanie Shockley, Alan Roop, Erin Roop (Brandon); one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her husband, George William Lillard; sister, Ruth Underwood; and brother, Melvin Nelson.
