Terry Donald Boothe

July 15, 1953 — November 23, 2025

Eden

Terry Donald Boothe, 72, of Eden, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 15, 1953, Terry was the son of the late Jesse Madison Boothe and Mary Florence Allen Boothe. He grew up in Cascade, Virginia, in a lively home full of love, hard work, and the closeness that comes from being part of a large family. As the youngest of twelve children, Terry learned early the value of loyalty, resilience, and looking out for the people you love — lessons he carried with him throughout his life.

Terry worked for 32 years at Fieldcrest/Pillowtex as a mechanic, where he was admired for his skill, dedication, and remarkable ability to fix anything. After earning his GED, he continued his education by taking college courses at Rockingham Community College and Guilford Technical Community College in automotive mechanics and electrical work, always determined to grow and learn so he could provide the very best for his family.

More than anything, Terry was proudest of his family. He was a devoted husband to Valarie Ratliff Boothe, and a loving father to Chasity Ann Boothe (Matt) and Bridgette Nicole Ratliff (Landon). He was “Poppy” to five grandchildren who brought him endless joy: Lennon, Maggie, Josie, Evelyn, and Legacy. His face lit up whenever he talked about them, and his pride in his grandkids was unmatched.

Terry was a gifted storyteller, the kind of person who could spin a memory into something unforgettable. He approached every problem with patience and ingenuity and was the one everyone called when something needed fixing. His steady presence, gentle strength, and big heart made him the anchor of his family.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, daughters, grandchildren, and his many brothers and sisters who remain: Mary Boothe, Geraldine Carter, Barbara Hand, Joann Denny (Harold), Frank “Delano” Boothe (Margaret), Kenny Boothe (Judy), Janice Reese, and twin brother Jerry Boothe (LouAnn).

He is also survived by a large extended family, including his sisters in law Wanda Holland and Janice Underwood, and a special cousin, Gordon Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Larry Boothe and Ronald Boothe, and his sister Brenda Land Walker.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 PM at Fair Funeral Home in Eden, NC, with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 PM.

Terry’s family would like to thank all who have offered support during his illness and during this difficult time, especially their long-time family friends, Brandon and Stephanie Martin.

He will be deeply missed, but the love he gave, the stories he told, and the strength he carried will live on forever in those who loved him.
