Ted Gary Cox, 63, of 1004 Roach Street in Mayodan, passed away Wednesday morning, May 18, 2016, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 22, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cox was born October 7, 1952 in Eden, NC, to the late Arthur Clayton and Elaine Swinney Cox. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
Ted is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Cook Cox of the home; three daughters, Elizabeth Cox Smith (Darrell), Leandra Cox McGuire (Chris), and Ashley Cox Dilmi (Mohammed); five grandchildren, Sarah Gann (Andy), Chesley Gann, Clayton Gann, Allison McGuire, and Bailey McGuire; three great-grandchildren, Will Hickman, Isabella Hickman, and Zane Gann; brothers, Art Cox, Robert Cox (Teresa), and Toby Cox (Kathy); sisters, Brenda Hubbard and Kim Anderson (Steve); special friends of the family, Jannett Clodfelter, Amber Garcia, and Kerry Solomon; mother-in-law, Ann H. Cook; and pet companion, P. J.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Ted Gary Cox, Jr.; sister, Carol Corum; infant brother, Lyman Cox; and father-in-law, Fred W. Cook.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
