Sunshine Bishopric

Sunshine Gay Hawkins Bishopric, 79, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 11, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Lawson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 5 - 7 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bishopric was born December 8, 1939 in Spray, NC, to the late George Avery (G. A. ) Hawkins and Myrtle Gay Harris Hawkins.  She was a graduate of Morehead High School, Class of 1958 and a member of Leaksville United Methodist Church.  Sunshine worked for Spray Cotton Mills as an executive assistant.  She enjoyed and excelled in arts and crafts, including sewing and painting.  

She is survived by her sisters, Mary Lea Hawkins Land and husband, Tommy, of Eden and Beulah Hawkins Hudson and husband, Tom, of Jacksonville, FL;  special nieces and nephews along with numerous devoted friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Welsford Bishopric;
