Steve Lee Cockman

Steve Lee Cockman, 67 of Eden, passed away peacefully, with his wife and daughter by his side, on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held at 12pm on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Overlook Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-11:45am at Fair Funeral Home prior to the service.

Steve was born June 17, 1959 in Rockingham County, North Carolina, to the late Lawrence B. Cockman and Ruby C. Cockman. He worked as a supervisor at Fieldcrest Mills for many years. Steve was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and enjoyed gardening. Mostly, he loved spending time with his family. Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Surviving are his loving wife, Jo Anne Cockman; daughter, Jada Cockman (Ulises); granddaughter, Ella Sandoval; sister, Sharon Clifton (Jack); brother-in-law, Eugene ”Blue” Corum and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence “Keith” Cockman.
