Simon "Jr." Lester Thomas

Simon "Jr." Lester Thomas, 84, of 360 Price Grange Road in Stoneville, passed away Thursday night, December 26, 2019, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, December 30, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends prior to the service, 12 noon to 12:45 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Jr. was born January 2, 1935 in Fireco, WV, to the late Lester Charles Thomas and Sarah Isabel Thompson Thomas.  He was a US Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.  Jr. retired from Karastan Mills after 40 years of service.  He enjoyed playing golf and following NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Teague Kendrick, of the home;  two brothers, Luther Thomas and Donald Thomas, both of Stoneville;  sisters, Doris Clifton of Stoneville and Brenda Collins (Gerald) of Graham;  step-daughter, Pamela Young;  step-son, Michael Kendrick;  five step-grandchildren, Nick, Sydney and Matthew Marsoobian, Alexis and Michaela Kendrick;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Allen Thomas;  his first wife, Kay Williams Thomas;  and sister, Christine Burgess.
