Shirley Temple Barker Carter

Shirley Temple Barker Carter, 81, of 160 Ward Road in Eden, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, December 12, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carter was born April 3, 1938 in Draper, NC, to the late Jake and Mary Belle Wilson Barker.  She has worked at, both, Holmes Middles School cafeteria and Ridgeway Clock Company.

She is survived by her husband, Jason H. Carter, of the home;  three daughters, Linda Carter Smoak and husband, Jesse, of Stoneville, Shelia Carter Sexton and husband, Billy, of Stoneville, and Tammy Lynn Carter of Eden;  son, Ricky Carter and wife, Amy, of Stoneville;  seven grandchildren;  10 great-grandchildren;  and one great-great-grandchild;  and sister, Shelby Axsom of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters.
