Shirley Shelton Overby

Shirley Shelton Overby, 75, of Ridgeway, Va.  passed away on Saturday, May 15th  2021  at the Gibson House ( Hospice Home) in Wentworth, NC.

 A graveside service will be held 2 pm Tuesday May 18th at the Dan View Cemetery .  The service will be live streamed on Fair Funeral Home Facebook page for those who are unable to attend. Shirley will lie-in-repose on Monday from 1 pm till 5 pm.

 Born February 1, 1946, she was the daughter to the late Thomas “Shell” Shelton and Irene Curry Shelton. Shirley was a faithful member of New Life Chapel in Stoneville NC.  She loved her church and her family and always made everyone around her aware of how much she cared for them. Her late parents taught her a sense of compassion and work ethics that she always carried with her. She married her loving husband Dennis Overby on May 16th 1976. Raising their daughter Wendy Jeffries of Eden was adored by Shirley and had a wonderful relationship that most dreamed of. Shirley’s two grandchildren, Levi Hale and Alex Jeffries both of Eden were the love of her life.  Her love for them would always show in her beautiful smile.  Shirley’s son-in-law Chris Jeffries  held a special place in her heart and always made him feel like part of the family. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Jane Turner and three bothers, T.J. Shelton, Freddie Shelton and Ricky Shelton.

 She was preceded along with her parents by siblings Rose “Pee Wee” Shelton and Ronnie “Joe” Shelton.
