Shirley June Allred Liner

Shirley June Allred Liner, 78 of 200 East Stadium Drive, passed away suddenly on Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2011 while hoping to spend the Easter weekend with her daughter Karen, at their lake cottage near Reidsville. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Liner was born March 19, 1933 in Jefferson, S.C. to the late June Rankin and Ida Maie Allred. She received her Master's degree in Education from Western Carolina University and later received her degree in Counseling. She was retired from Eden City School System holding the position of Supervisor of Elementary Programs and was a member of N.C. Retired School Personnel and a member of Leaksville United Methodist Church, where she participated in The Lunch Bunch and the Joy Club. For almost 20 years Shirley cared for and fed her "babies" , the homeless cats around the Eden area. Preceding Shirley in death along with her parents was her husband Fred who passed away in March of 2006. Surviving her memory are her daughter; Karen Liner of Charlotte, sister-in-law ; Doris Barker and nephew Tony Barker both of Mooresville, and all of her close friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home.
