Shirley Jean Christley Roberts

Shirley Jean Christley Roberts, 84, passed away Thursday, November 2nd at UNC Rockingham Health Care.

A funeral service will be held at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, November 16th at 1:00pm.  A visitation will be in the chapel one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at Overlook Cemetery.

Shirley was born May 1, 1939 to the late James Boyd Christley and Louvenia Florence Burchell Christley in Rockingham, County.  She loved to read her Bible.  She also loved to write and draw.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Mary Roberts; grand-daughter, Kala Overby; grandson, Brandon Overby; great grand-daughter’s, Jaida Fitz, Kaylee Overby, Alexis Overby; great grandson’s, Kaiden Roberts, Jaxson Fitzgerald, Corey Overby; sisters, Louise Johnson, Carolyn Wooten; brothers Michael, Bobby, Calvin, Evertte Christley.

Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Ray Roberts.
