Sheryl June Odom Purdy

Sheryl June Odom Purdy, 52, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, April 29, 2019.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 3, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Bald Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Sheryl was born October 8, 1966 in High Point, NC, to the late Daryl Odom and Claudia Bailey Odom Hanna.  She was a US Navy veteran and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.  Sheryl was a prayer warrior and enjoyed studying and reading the Bible and baking cookies.  She worked as a CNA for the former Morehead Nursing Center and later, for Brian Center Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eden.

She is survived by her husband, Taylor Purdy, Jr. of the home;  two sons, Terry Mason (Desiree Ransome) and Bradley Mason, both of Eden;  two grandchildren, Destiny Nicole Mason and Trinity Mason;  step-father who raised her as his own, Oba Hanna, III of Eden;  step-brother, Christopher Hanna (Yahaira) of Gastonia;  step-daughter, Brooke Purdy;  uncles, Charles and Dan Odom of High Point;  special friend, Brenda Smith of Eden;  and a large extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Hobbs.
