Sarah Lee Joyce Fulp

Sarah Lee Joyce Fulp, 78, passed away Friday, October 13th at her home in Mayodan, NC.

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 16th at 1:00pm in the Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church.  A visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm also at the church. Burial will follow at the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.

Sarah was born October 27, 1944 to the late Jesse Joyce and Frances Cox Joyce Coleman in Rockingham County. She was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord, her family, friends, church and community. Her valiant fight with cancer began in 2020.  Sarah’s strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through years of grueling treatments. Yet even throughout her own struggle with cancer, she reached out to others, cherished her time with her family and friends until she was called to her heavenly home.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Teresa Rakestraw (Larry) of Madison, NC and son, Michael Ashby (Robyn) of Mayodan, NC, stepdaughter, Toni Goin of Ridgeway, VA, grandchildren, Tristan Walker (Bryson), Taylor Rakestraw, Jacob Joyce, Jeremy Ashby, great-grandchild, Watson Walker, sister, Ruth Martin of Mayodan, NC.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Fulp, a son, Brian Ashby and a sister, Barbara Jean Flynt.

Family will meet at other times at her home, 808 West Main Street, Mayodan, NC.
