Sarah "Delores" "Sis" Kallam Younger

Delores “Sis” Kallam Younger, 84, passed away Tuesday evening, June 8, 2021, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Highway 14 in Eden, NC.   Delores made the decision years ago to donate her body to Wake Forest School of Medicine to assist in the educational advancement of our future health care providers. 

Born February 25, 1937 in Rockingham County, NC, Delores was the daughter of the late James Richard Kallam and Jessie Belva Austin Kallam.  She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three children, Jerry D. Younger (Lorie) of Stoneville, Robert E. Younger of Ridgeway, VA and Nellie Y. Wall of Eden; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and brother, Gene F. Kallam of Eden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Allyn Younger; sisters, Marlene Newsome and Molly Harris; and brother, James R. Kallam.
