Ruth Watkins Wilson

Ruth Emma Watkins Wilson, 97, of Eden passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at North Point of Mayodan.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Lawson Cemetery in Eden.

Ruth was born November 21, 1927 in Stokes County, NC, to the late Drew G. Watkins and Mary Lee Dodson Watkins. Prior to moving to North Point, Ruth enjoyed going to the Eden Senior Center. She played Bingo and Horseshoes, winning many trophies. In her early years, Ruth loved raising chickens and going fishing. 

Surviving are her son, Eugene Wilson (Evon) of Eden; daughter, Faye Carter of Eden; estranged daughter, Kellie Ann Cayton; grandson, Devin Wilson; granddaughter, Amy Cayton; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, William T. Wilson; grandson, Timothy Carter; son-in-law, Thomas Carter; siblings, Rufus Watkins, Frank Watkins, Estelle Wooten, Beatrice Kallam, Janie Ellington, and Laverne Largen.
