Russell Thomas Chatman

Russell Thomas Chatman, 80, of Eden passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.

A memorial gathering will be held Monday, May 6, 2024 from 4-6pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

Russell was born April 12, 1944, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Hassell Thomas Chatman and Mary Frances Lester Chatman. He was a graduate of Morehead High School. Russell served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Mabe Trucking, Co. in Eden until retirement.

Surviving are his daughter, Brandy Bailey (Bo); grandson, Ryder Bailey; brother, Johnny Chatman (Jeannine Bowers); significant other, Diane Brown; nieces, Brittney Bowers, Diane Allred; nephews, Jason Bowers, Jonathon Chatman, Hassel Lee Corum; great-nephews, Eli, Matthew, and August; half-sisters, June Agee and April McKnight; partner-in-crime, Missy.

In addition to his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Cox, and nephew, Ray Corum.
