Ruby Mae Walker Jones

Ruby Mae Walker Jones, 82, of Danville, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation in Danville.

A graveside service will be held 2pm Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Jones Family Cemetery, Huntington Trail, Cascade, VA. A gathering will be held at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.

Ruby Mae was born July 8, 1940, in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Adolphus Walker and Hattie Mae Griffith Walker. She was a member of Willis Memorial Baptist Church in Cascade. Ruby Mae married her husband, Bobby Clark Jones, in 1959. She worked as a CNA at the Brian Center for many years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tammy J. Hammond and son-in-law, Alfred “Buck” Hammond of Danville; grandson, Logan Clark Hammond and fiancé, Sierra Osika; brother, Elwood Walker (Mary) of Florida; sisters, Doris Salmons of Cascade, VA, and Patricia Dishmon of Eden, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruby Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Clark Jones, and sister, Josephine “Jo” Walker.
