Ruby Gilley Hodges

Ruby Gilley Hodges, 92 of Eden went home to be with the Lord, Sunday July 13, 2014 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at First Church of the Brethren with burial to follow at Lawson Cemetery. A native of Spray ( Eden), she was born December 30, 1921 to the late Jesse and Martha Gilley. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren. Ruby worked at Morehead Memorial Hospital as a Nurses Aide for 20 years. She loved to travel and knit.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was her husband James W. Hodges; brothers, Frank and Junior Gilley; sister, Helen Bennett.

Surviving is her son James W. "Jimmy" Hodges and his wife Joyce of Eden; sister, Edith Webb and husband Sherman of Illinois; grandchildren, Robin Baker of Eden and Michael Eric Hodges and his wife Cami of Fredricksburg, VA; two great-grandchildren, James Michael and Ethan Andrew Hodges. She had two special friends, Jackie Aheron and Juanita Howlett.

The family would like to thank the Brian Center, Morehead Memorial Hospital and the Hospice Home for all the love and care of Mrs. Hodges.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 832 Clarkway Drive, Eden.
