Roy Calvin Edwards

Roy Calvin Edwards, 78, of Eden passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 4-6pm at Fair Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Kevin and Brandie Edwards, 420 Overland Trail, Stoneville, NC.

Roy was born October 9, 1947, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Calvin Edwards and Virginia Bullins Edwards. He was a graduate of Stoneville High School, class of 1965, where he enjoyed playing football and being part of the team. Roy attended Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Over the years, Roy worked in several capacities. He worked as a truck driver and trainer for Covenant Transport and also at the Waste Water Treatment Plant for the City of Eden. Roy was also a self-employed General Contractor. He had many hobbies, taking joy in fixing equipment and fishing at Smith Mountain Lake. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching football. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his sons, Christopher “Chris” Calvin Edwards, Sr., and Kevin Lane Edwards (Brandie); grandchildren, Christopher Calvin Edwards, Jr. (Alyssa), Lance Blakely Edwards (Morgan), Justin Tyler Edwards, Kaitlin “Katie” Carter (Casey), Matthew Edwards (Magi-Lyn), Braxton Edwards (Breanna); great-grandchildren, Emilee Edwards, Kalli Edwards, Wilder Edwards, Grayson Carter, Lainey Carter, Myla Edwards, Ezekiel Edwards; step-great-grandchildren, Alana Tucker and Bella Tucker.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Delores Montgomery Edwards.
