Roxie McCollum Bray

Roxie Mae McCollum Bray, 84 of Reidsville, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10am at Evergreen Memory Gardens, 7875 US-158, Reidsville, NC 27320. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 5pm-7pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, and Friday after the service at Roxie’s home.

Roxie was born August 5, 1940 in Eden, NC, to the late Paul J. McCollum and Addie Foster McCollum, where she grew up with her brothers and sisters until she married. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Reidsville. Roxie worked as a waste water treatment operator for Equity Meats until her retirement. Roxie enjoyed traveling and loved the beach and the mountains. She also enjoyed playing Mahjong, reading, and working puzzles.

Surviving are her daughters, Roxanne Barber and Tammy Bray Knight, both of Reidsville; son, Greg Bray (Vicky) of Reidsville; brother, Tommy McCollum (Evelina) of Wilmington; grandchildren, George Barber, III (Jenny), Sarah Shropshire (Ricky), Erin Willey (Tyler), Katie Knight, Matthew Bray; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Teresa Hawkins, Peggy Dix; sister-in-law, Esther McCollum. In addition to her parents, Roxie is preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Disabled American Veterans, 525 NC-65 #210, Reidsville, NC 27320, or to the Veterans Association of your choice.
