Ronald “Ronnie” Lewis Gauldin, 80 of Eden, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial and Honors will follow at El Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Monday, June 30, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at 312 E Harris Place, Apt D in Eden, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
Ronnie was born January 1, 1945 in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late William L. Gauldin and Gladys I. Dodson Gauldin. He attended Morehead High School. Ronnie served in the United States Marine Corp from 1964 to 1968 as Lance Corporal earning Expert Marksman with Rifle and Pistol and Weapons Instructor accommodations. Following service, Ronnie worked in construction, accounts management, and Guardian at Lidem in Rockingham County. Ronnie enjoyed wrestling, racing, and football. He was an avid San Diego Chargers and Carolina Panthers fan, as well as a fan of Jeff Gordon. Ronnie pulled for NC State and any team that was playing the TarHeels. He loved singing gospel and preaching.
Ronnie was father to Veronica “Roni” Smith (Carl), Victoria “Vicki” Gauldin, and Pamela Symmes (Mark Evans). He was a bonus father to Christine Wright and Britt Roseberry. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Logan Carter, sister, Gladys M. Winstead (David) and special friend, Joan Branch.
Additionally, Ronnie is survived by his grandkids, Samantha Meadows-Pettigrew (Patrick), Ashleigh Stapleton, Ariel Roseberry, Christopher Clark, Brenton Paschall (Leighann), Jon Roseberry (Kristen), Jacob Roseberry, Allyssa Evans (Kamryn), Tristen Smith, Blake Evans (Madison), Caleigh Athena; great-grandkids, Haley, Allyzza, Rebecca, Adalyn, Beverly, Dixie, Kolby, Jackson, and Alexander.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife, Janice L. Gauldin; sister, Patricia J. Gauldin; niece, Ronda L. Chambers; granddaughters, Hallie D. Symmes and Ava Wilson.
The family would like to issue special thanks to Rockingham County EMS, Taylor Carter, Alex Jefferies, Roe Wilson, Hannah Bullins, Drew Lucas, Timmy Shelton.
