Roger Vernon

Roger Vernon, 65, of 325 Monticello St, Eden, passed away early Sunday morning, March 6, 2022, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. He was surrounded by his family.

He was the twelfth of thirteen children of Tom and Nannie Edwards Vernon. Roger was a US Army Veteran and attended RCC. He worked as an electrician for Spray Cotton, pressman at Vanier Graphics, and retired from P&G. Roger was a loyal friend, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had fond memories of spending time with his brothers at the Pack House.

Roger loved visiting his children and grandchildren. They always put a smile on his face.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Gilmer, Elmer, Jimmy, LeRoy, Randy; sisters, Peggy Moore, Mabel Barnes.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Daphine; daughters, Sonya of Eden, Jessica (Steph) of Carolina Beach, Denise (Jon) of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Bryce of Wilmington, Ashton, Chloe of the home, Harleigh, Darrell, Brayden of SC, Clay of Carolina Beach; brothers, Ronnie, Dale, Eddie; sisters, Jane, Marie; special friends David Dallas and Ricky Broadnax, Sr.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
