He was born May 31, 1974 to Yvonne Stevens Freeman and his father, the late Harry Sanford Mitchell Jr. He attended Morehead High School and later went to Job Corps in Kentucky to continue his education by receiving his high school diploma and cerification in Small Engine Repair and Technology.

He was a Technician at Eden Yarns for several years, ran the newspaper route, and worked at Pizza Hut as a manager and driver. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and mother.

He loved golfing, loved racing slot cars, and rc cars. He loved spending most of his time at his hobby business known as Lightning Strikes Racing in Eden with all his friends and family. He was a mopar fanatic and always left his mark wherever he went.

He is survived by his wife, Tracey Lee Mitchell, daughter, Ashlynn Elizabeth Harris, son, Nathaniel Jarrod Carter, mother, Yvonne Stevens Freeman, sister, Martha Ann Mitchell, brother, Andrew Clay Edwards. Fur babies, Logan and Zoey Elizabeth. Special friends Robert and Roger Blackwell, Ronnie Underwood, Ricky Neal, Brandon Brown, Russell and Myra Holm, Leah and Steven Harris. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Sanford Mitchell Jr., granddaughter, Madelynn Elizabeth, grandmother, Naomi Vestal Stevens, uncle, Calvin Coolidge Stevens Jr.

Rodger also had many other family members and friends that he always treated like family.

The family would like to wish a very special thank you and prayers to all who have been supportive in their time of need.
