Robert "Bob" Lee Rutan

Robert “Bob” Lee Rutan, 68 of Eden, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at UNC Rockingham Healthcare.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday, June 27, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens with Military Honors given by Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Fair Funeral Home.

Bob was born October 2, 1956 in Ripley, West Virginia, to Chester Franklin Rutan and the late Evelyn Mae Duncan Rutan. He served his country in the United States NAVY. Bob worked at Phillip Sporn, New Haven, WV. Bob then worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Julie Burchell Rutan of the home; stepson, Timothy Burchell of Wentworth, NC; father, Chester F. Rutan of Sissonville, WV; grandchildren, Dylan Rutan of Albuquerque, NM; Tori Cunningham of Rapid City, SD, Addison Rutan of Evans, WV; brothers, James Rutan of Ravenswood, WV, and Richard Rutan (Barbara) of Taylors, SC; sister, Cindy Crockett (Mark) of Ravenswood, WV; brother-in-law, Theo Burchell of Eden, NC; best friend, Hilda Seals of Eden, NC; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer M. Rutan King and son, Anthony Jay Rutan.
