Robert Melvin Hicks, Sr., 79, of Stoneville passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 at his home.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Robert was born January 16, 1944, to the late George Melvin and Alma Jones Hicks. He was a member of Osborne Baptist Church. Robert worked as a mechanic in chemical manufacturing at Evonik Stockhausen LLC in Greensboro until his retirement.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Eileen Hicks of the home; son, Jonathan Hicks (Wendy) of Sherrills Ford, NC; grandchildren, Madeline Wiles (C.J.) of Concord, NC, Katherine Hicks of Wilmington, NC, Ethan Hicks of Concord, NC, Anna Hicks of Sherrills Ford, NC; sisters, Carolyn Tucker (Wayne) of Pinehurst, NC, Linda Hunt (Sam) of Cascade, VA; special brother-in-law, Frank Foley (Robin) of Eden, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert “Bob” Hicks, Jr.
