Robert Jerald "Jerry" Tate

Robert Jerald “Jerry” Tate passed away on October 9 at Hospice Home in High Point, NC.

A service for Jerry will be held at Fair Funeral Home in Eden, NC on Thursday October 13 at 2pm.  Interment will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.  After the service, family will receive friends at the home of Audrey Jones Chilton, 214 Clifton Street in Eden NC.

Jerry was born October 1, 1948 in Axton, Virginia, to the late Howard Daniel Tate and Audrey Webb Tate.  He attended Axton Elementary and graduated from Drewry Mason High School in 1967. He worked as a plumber for many years and ran a successful cleaning business for 20 years in High Point.  Jerry will long be remembered for his wit and humor and his love for his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jeressa Tate Stout of Leavenworth Kansas, his sister Sandra Tate Sigmon of St. Petersburg, Florida, his sister Joyce Eggleston of Forest, Virginia, his sister Norma McKinney of Eden, NC, his brother Howard Tate of Ridgeway, Virginia, his partner, Sandra Davis of Eden, North Carolina, and three grandchildren, Maddie, Zach, and Cassie Stout of Leavenworth, Kansas. 

The family wish to offer a special thanks to Lance and Dawn Marshall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,  Ann Tate.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Fair’s Funeral Home, Eden, NC on Wednesday October 12 from 6-8 pm

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC, 27262 in memory of Jerry Tate.
