Robert Dell "Bobby" Powell

Robert Dell “Bobby” Powell, 82 of Reidsville, NC passed away Monday October 2, 2023 at Gibson House in Wentworth, NC. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday October 5th, 11:00 am at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery; 2020 Wentworth St. Reidsville, NC.

“Bobby” was born December 16th, 1940 to the late Robert Spencer Powell and Catherine Webster Powell in Rockingham County, NC. He worked for Spray Cotton Mills as well as Nova Yarns as a plant manager. “Bobby” was an avid hunter. He was kind and thoughtful, with numerous friends and hunting buddies. He loved his family dearly and always had a jolly disposition.

Surviving Mr. Powell are his wife of 59 years Jean Gammon Powell of the home, daughters Kelly Rassette of Reidsville, NC, Kristy Hussey and husband Dana of Reidsville, NC, grandsons Austin Lemons of Eden, NC and ITS2 Ryan Rassette currently stationed in Georgia, great granddaughter Elizabeth Lemons of Eden, NC, brother John Rodney Powell and wife Julie of Eden, NC, uncle Ted Webster of Eden, NC as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death along with his parents is his brother Donald Webster Powell.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday evening October 4th from 4 pm until 6 pm at Fair Funeral Home. The family wishes that donations in Mr. Powell's name be made to Salem United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Rockingham County.
