Robert Andrew Ziglar, II, known for his infectious smile and ability to talk to anyone, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, NC on Tuesday December 5, 2023. Born on January 20, 1956, in Eden, NC, he lived a life filled with so much love and laughter. He was 67 years old.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Eden 2:00 PM Sunday, December 10, 2023. A reception will follow the service.

Growing up in the small town of Eden, where he was a graduate of the J.M. Morehead class of 1974 and a member of the Eden Jaycees, Rob quickly made a name for himself. After joining his family businesses, Central Ready Mix and R.A. Ziglar & Sons, Inc., he went on to form ADZ Inc. of North Carolina, where he left his own unique mark on the industry. He worked for several other companies in the Triad area most notably Ace Avant in Archdale, NC.  In 2011, he moved to Wilmington to join East Coast Contracting, Inc., and later Hodge Excavating & Grading, bringing his expertise and infectious energy to the job site.

Outside of work, Rob had a passion for sports. He was an avid supporter of NC State Football and Basketball, cheering on his beloved team through thick and thin. Additionally, he enjoyed racing in the NASCAR late model stock series and found excitement watching Formula 1 racing, always fascinated by the speed and precision of the sport. His love for fast cars lead him to join the Hurricane Region Porsche Club in Wilmington, NC, and to later participate in the Tail of the Dragon run, speeding through the winding roads of the North Carolina mountains. Rob loved to spend time with his family making memories, going to the beach, entertaining friends, and traveling to new places.

Rob was preceded in death by his father Robert Andrew Ziglar and his dogs Jackson and Rosco, his memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 47 years, Deborah Jones Ziglar. Together, they shared a bond that could weather any storm. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Alexandria Noelle Ziglar, and son, Robert Andrew Ziglar, III and his wife, Sarah. Also left to cherish his memory, his mother, Peggy Grogan Ziglar, sister Katey Ziglar Hart and her husband  Bill, brother Steven Ray Ziglar and his wife Debbie, mother-in-law Nancy Chilton, sister-in-law Sandy Jones Boyte and her husband Kevin, sister-in-law Tammy Renee Chilton and George Davis, four nieces and five nephews,  as well as his granddogs, Triece and Marlin.

Foundation of Cancer Research (14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513), or the Carolina Boxer Rescue (PO Box 87, Hampstead, NC 28443).
